The SUNS to perform at Australia Music Week

The SUNS will be performing at heats of the Australia Music Week (AMW) series of showcase gigs this Thursday 24 Feb 11.30pm at Greenroom (33 Elizabeth St, Melbourne CBD). Admission is Free. The massive event will feature Australia's best unsigned bands handpicked to perform at AMW infront of a panel of industry bigshots. The winner of the Australia Music Week showcase will perform at The Melbourne International Music Festival held at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl this Sunday. Previous performers at Australia Music Week include, Powderfinger, John Butler Trio, Grinspoon and Jebediah! It can't get any bigger than this, AMW is the highest profile competition in Australia.

"To be invited to perform at Australia Music Week is an honor in itself! I mean, we're from Singapore but Australia Music Week still invited us to play here. Australia rocks! We're gonna be playing really loud and putting on a massive show for everyone!" said San Singer.

When asked about The SUNS chances of winning the AMW competition San Singer said,

"We've never actually won any band competition before so we don't expect to win AMW. We're the type of band that always wins the crowd but never the judges. But we're gonna rock it out really loud so be prepared to have your ass kicked by The SUNS! And let's all party together at the Greenroom after the show cos they've just renovated the place and made it a lot bigger. You gotta come down and help us fill it up with SUNRockers," said San Singer.

Tonight, Monday 21 Feb 9 pm The SUNS will be supporting one of Australia's finest rock bands The Casanovas at Mercury Lounge (Crown Casino, Southbank). The event is part of Monash University's Orientation night and is open to all. Tickets available at the door are priced at $15 and will allow you to enter all other nightclubs in Crown casino as well.

"We've finally scored one of the best support slots in the land. It's gonna be a real treat for us to share the stage with Casanovas. They are a band that The SUNS love and admire and they ROCK hard! It's gonna be a fantastic gig for everyone," said San Singer.
